From the History Books

"If an individual wants to discriminate against Negroes or others in selling or renting his house, it is his right to do so."
--Ronald Reagan, in 1966, endorsing repeal of California's Fair Housing Act during his gubernatorial campaign

Behold the patron saint of political conservatives. Oh, happy MLK Day, by the way.

Wow--pretty interesting to think that a President deemed that comment okay to make.

Hmmm. (At least i hope some thought went into that comment/reply. Then again, maybe we are just carrying on like Reagan these days, only worse!

Well, he wasn't President at the time. But what's remarkable is that he still managed to be elected Governor, and later President, despite holding such beliefs.

I believe anything after seeing this quote made by Bush the first:
"No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered as patriots. This is one nation under God."
